BEAUTY IS….WHAT WE EAT

I don’t want to preach about a New Year detox plan, or how we should be avoiding all types of sugar, alcohol and processed foods if we want to stop premature ageing in its tracks. However the fact is, what we eat and drink is as important as the products we use when it comes to complexion perfection. Here are my most simple and effective tips for achieving optimum skin health and beautifying from the inside out.
GREEN IS MY FAVOURITE COLOUR
Well not really, but my body and my skin love it. Get into green tea (at least three cups per day) and plenty of green leafy vegetables such as spinach and kale. Full of beta-carotene and vitamin A, these vegetables are both essential for collagen production and skin rejuvenation.
GOOD FATS ARE OUR FRIENDS
Stop the ‘fat-free’ mindset – it is adding years to your complexion! You need to incorporate plenty of omega-fats into your everyday diet. The good fats that boost your skin can be found in oily fish like salmon, nuts and seeds such as almonds, walnuts and sunflower seeds and of course, avocados.
BOOST YOUR LOOK WITH SUPER SUPPLEMENTS
There are vitamins, minerals and antioxidants found in certain skin supplements that will boost your diet and skin regime. My advice: keep it simple. Wild Krill Oil is a superior choice to fish oil and contains higher ratios of omega 3 – omega 6 fatty acids. Zinc is also an important component to achieve healthy skin, especially for acne sufferers.
