There is the Jersey Shore way to apply bronzer. And then there is the WY? way.

While it’s tempting in the colder months to overdose on colour in a bid to lift your mood & create a summer vibe, we suggest embracing your inner Cate Blanchett, highlighting the skin with an illuminating bronzer and taking a restrained approach. See below for our 4 simple tips on achieving the perfect balance…

Choosing Your Shade- never go for a product that looks like it is more than 2 shades darker than your natural skin tone. If your skin is yellow based, a golden bronzer will look best. For pink-based skin tones, focus on a cool brown coloured bronzer that won’t generate extra redness on the skin.

Skip The Shimmer- for a subtle look; ditch the glitter and shimmery bronzing powders. Matte finish is best, or a bronzer with subtle luminosity and hydration.

It’s All About The Brush- bronzer brushes are specifically designed to apply colour evenly, with large heads and more movement in the bristles. Always apply your bronzer in natural light and invest in a high quality brush to avoid streaks and telltale bronzer lines.

Follow The 3- when applying, create the number “3” with your bronzer brush, on both sides of your face. Start at the top of your forehead, bringing the colour down under your cheekbone and then finish with a dust of colour along your jawline. Always remember to blend down under your chin and into your neck. Most importantly- if you’re putting your hair up, brush some colour at the back of your neck and hairline too!
