HELEN GURLEY BROWN

Fashion August 16 2012

This week we’re breaking the rules a little by honouring Helen Gurley Brown who died on Monday, aged 90.  Along with igniting a sexual freedom amongst women in 1962 (well before Sex and The City), she also managed to publish a bestseller – Sex and the Single Girl.  She was editor at Cosmopolitan from 1965 until 1997 and remained Editor in Chief of all Cosmo international editions.  She believed women had the right to it all – love, sex and money. We thank you and we salute you, not least for coining the mantra “Good girls go to heaven, bad girls go everywhere.”
