The Big Group share marquee tips for @ home Spring Racing soirées

Transform your home this racing season with these simple décor and food ideas. Steph Hagan, Stylist at The Design Depot and Daisy Lynch, Event Manger at The Big Group have put together five top tips to help you add class to your race day celebrations…

1. Beautify your space - Place bundled fresh flowers into hand painted jam jars then cluster on shelves and book cases around the home. 2012 Spring Summer is all about colour, so be bold and go bright!

2. Use table decorations - For beautiful table displays fill an assortment of Mason jars with beeswax candles, tea lights, fresh flowers and lively green leaves.

3. Canapés - For quick and easy canapés, the secret is to keep the food simple to prepare and easy to eat. Big Group’s favourite canapés include crispy prawns with lemon gribiche, mini pizzas, baked goats cheese tart, mini chicken burgers and crayfish and lemon arancini.

4. Serve canapés creatively - The trick is the vessel. Give special thought to how each item will be presented – this is where the fun and creativity lies. Our favourite vessels include recycled paper cones, floral print paper plates and napkins, candy coloured paper straws and bamboo plates and cutlery.

5. A delicious drink  - Treat your guests to a Moroccan Iced Tea and they’ll be begging you for more. Serve over ice in a tall glass and garnish with an over sized cinnamon quill and chunky lime wedge.
