Carrie’s the founder of Daily Addict (dailyaddict.com.au) – a free daily e-newsletter for Sydney and Melbourne’s cashed-up time-poor folk, keen to get their regular dose of culture.
What do you do?
I’m the founder and editor of Sydney and Melbourne lifestyle guide www.DailyAddict.com.au.
You’re an expert in…
Hunting down and recommending social experiences and must-have products that interest and inspire.
What’s in your handbag?
Miu Miu wallet, iPhone, Leica camera, Hermes diary (overflowing with notes for my upcoming wedding!), Jurlique lip balm and a bunch of invites I still need to RSVP to.
When it comes to knowing what’s happening on the scene, what’s your fave resource?
Twitter – it’s an extreme stream of real-time feedback where you can pick up the latest happenings in the shortest amount of time.
Where would we find you on a Saturday night? In Sydney, I’d be at the Eau de Vie or Sticky Bar and in Melbourne, at Der Raum or Bar Americano (their sister venue).
What is your favourite holiday destination to…?
Relax: Lord Howe Island. Stay at Capella Lodge (www.lordhowe.com) for a super friendly and high luxury beach house experience. Lord Howe is an amazing place to learn how to dive and discover rare marine life, including feeding the local kingfish by hand.
Shop: Gertrude Street in Melbourne for all things quirky, unique and local made. My hit list includes Left (leftmelbourne.blogspot.com) for great fashion, Amor y Locura (amorylocura.com) for antiques and pre-loved treasures, Industria X (industriax.com.au) for industrial furniture and vintage wares, Aesop for beautiful plant-based skincare, and Spacecraft (spacecraftaustralia.com) for vibrant printed homewares.
Romance: Pretty Beach House (NSW). Located on the beautiful Bouddi Peninsula, this sophisticated guesthouse is great for exploring the surrounding bushland on foot and discovering secluded beaches by boat.
