What do you do?
I am the CEO of The Future Laboratory, a global trends, insight and innovation consultancy

What are you reading?
The Montalbano Crime Mysteries by Andrea Camilleri, Maggie & Me by Damian Barr and Quiet by Susan Cain

Childhood Crime?
My childhood crime was stealing glacé cherries. I only have to see one now and I get that duel pang of extreme guilt and absolute pleasure.

Who (alive or dead) would you most like to dine with…?
I would most like to dine with Dr.Dee, astronomer to the court of Elizabeth 1st

What motivates you to get up in the morning…?
I’ve never had a problem getting up in the morning. I wake after around 6 hours sleep, wherever I am. I can’t remember the last time I had a lie-in. But maybe that’s also 14 years of having a dog that needs to wee first thing…

As co-founder of The Future Laboratory you help others realise their future by delivering business, brand, digital and innovation strategies. But we want to know, what does your future look like…?
I’m trying very hard not to predict my own future. I know what I’m doing up until 2015, but after that the diary is clear. Any offers?

Can you share your top five interesting insights for living in this crazy world in the next five years?

1: Stop spending and start saving – it’s all about to go tits up

2: Learn to be happy with less

3: Always make sure you have a bottle of good champagne in the fridge. You never really know when either celebration or defeat will require it. Or just another shit day makes it a necessity

4: Understand that the 21st C is all about women taking control, and learn to live with it

5: No amount of technology will ever replace a really good shag

You’re an extremely busy person, what are your top three time saving technology helpers?

1: Hailo is the app that turns London’s finest black cabs into your own personal chauffeur network – you can hail them from your home, office, theatre, pub or club and not have to stand on the street. Now in other cities globally. Genius

2: Technology is a great time waster so I deliberately under-charge my phone so that I am parsimonious in its use

3: I do all my grocery shopping from Waitrose on the Ocado app while I am walking the dog. Bliss
