What do you do?
Founder and director of LENZO – a centralised destination for event inspiration, hire and trade, as well as the LENZO online magazine, The LENZO Edit.
Describe yourself in 5 words or less:
Outgoing, Loyal, Enthusiastic Passionate and Determined
Explain your dream party…
A party at home with my nearest and dearest, French on tap, metallics, neon lights, greenery… I wish I could say less is more, but I can’t go past an OTT party.
Where did the idea for the name LENZO come from?
This will sound a little conceited but it was my nickname as a child – the LEN from ELLENI and the ZO from my maiden name (ZOGOPOULOS)!!! My sister suggested it when I was talking about the concept, as I wanted to name the business something abstract.
How would you spend your perfect Sunday?
A sleep in (very rare these days with two little ones)! Followed by brekky at The Little Ox with my husband and little girls (I can’t go past their scrambled eggs). An activity with the girls – the Zoo or the beach and an early dinner with some friends at home (it’s a busy Sunday)! That would all be ideal!
As a successful entrepreneur, what is your biggest advice to young, budding businesswomen?
Never start anything you are half hearted about. Passion is the key to success. If you love what you do, you will actually DO it!
What’s your favourite magazine and online site/blog for lifestyle inspiration?
I actually worked 10 years at Bauer Media, so magazines are very close to my heart! I love Elle for a me-fix. I am also creatively inspired by international event related blogs such as Design Love Fest and Studio DIY. And I love The Lane, how couldn’t you? It’s always so fabulously luxe.
Your current favourite trends for weddings?
Neon lighting, Sheer Fabrics, Mixed Metals and fresh greenery.
What is your number one beauty essential?
Estee Lauder Day Wear Plus with Tint. The colour goes from a greeny blue and then matches to your skin tone and it smells of fresh cucumbers! This has been my staple since I was 17… and I remember it also being the best hangover cure (those are a little more infrequent today) J.
Where is your favourite getaway location?
A winter escape to Bali. A mix of the restaurants and craziness Seminyak has to offer followed by a relaxing few days in Jimbaran Bay (we love Ayana Resort.) The Rock Bar there still blows my mind. I also love to visit my parents and friends in Adelaide – I grew up there so it’s always a great feeling to be home.
Where do you see LENZO in the next 5 years?
I would like to see LENZO to continue to grow in the Australian Market. The end goal is for someone to reference LENZO like you reference Gumtree or Ebay (but for events) – ie “Why don’t you just LENZO it”. I also see a great licensing opportunity with LENZO abroad.
