I grew up in sunny Cairns, Far North Queensland, but moved to Sydney to follow my dream when I was 17 years old and have never left!
What do you do?
After fulfilling my role as Miss World Australia, I am currently working as a Brand Ambassador, presenter, singer, model and charity ambassador for Variety – The Children’s Charity, McHappy Day and the Australian Working Dogs Rescue, as well as performing and modelling.
My wardrobe consists mostly of…
A mix of vibrant, brightly coloured summer dresses, performance/pageant gowns (think sparkly mermaid and you’re on track ha!) and a zillion pairs of shoes – I swear I haven’t worn 3/4 of them!
If I weren’t modelling, I would be…
Modelling was always a secondary endeavour to help support my ultimate dream of performing – I have really grown to enjoy and appreciate how difficult it is to work in this particular part of the industry!
My dream is to…
Perform as a leading lady on Broadway and West end, present on Getaway and land a feature film… I don’t want much, do I? J I love everything about performing. It is almost like therapy for me, I have never known such joy as the thrill of performing on stage in front of an appreciative audience.
You have a degree in Classical Voice and have been known to belt out an Opera tune or two. What’s your favourite Opera song of all time?
O mio babbino caro is always a hit favourite.
You made the finals of the Miss World Beauty Pageant in 2013. Tell us your top three beauty tricks?
1. Always, always take your make up off before bed (I am very guilty of this at times!)
2. Make sure you use treatments your hair regularly, especially if you’re a blonde like me!
3. A good pair of false lashes are your friend.
You undertake charity work for Variety Australia and the Australian Working Dogs Rescue. Tell us why these charities are important to you?
Variety supports disadvantaged children (whether physically, mentally or financially) nationwide by donating over 1 million dollars every month. Children don’t have the means to help themselves at their tender age, so I believe it is imperative to support them in any way necessary and provide them the best opportunity to succeed in life. As for AWDR – I have been a passionate animal lover my whole life. Growing up with at least 2 Cattle Dogs my whole life, they really are an integral part to any family and deserve to be treated with the same love and respect as any human being. The AWDR are amazing not for profit charitable institution whose primary function is to save Australian working dog breeds from being euthanised in council pounds and shelters and successfully re-home them – and I get to play with puppies – WIN!
Named as Miss World Australia in 2013, what is the most exotic place you’ve travelled to?
I am lucky enough to be the ambassador for the Australian Education Career Consultants, a company that has offices all around the world to facilitate international students studying in Australia. In October last year they took me to Nepal and India on tour and I absolutely fell in love with trekking in Nepal. It really is a must!
In my spare time I like to….
Hit Sydney Dance Company or Flow Athletic for a class or two and catch up with my gorgeous friends. When work is really hectic and I am travelling a lot, I try to always stay in constant touch with those closest to me. I miss my friends and family and would be nowhere without their constant love and support.
