Friendships can form when you least expect it, as was the case for local Melbourne ladies, Gaye Weeden, Food and Interiors Stylist and Hayley Smorgon, a Self Confessed Foodie who met at their children’s playgroup. This relationship blossomed into an exciting business venture, with the talented duo collaborating to write three successful books: Cooking from Memory: A Journey Through Jewish Food, The Butcher, The Baker, The Best Coffeemaker and most recently Cooking from the Heart, proving you can mix business and friendship – and come out on top! Where is your favourite Melbourne food market?
Little Saigon Market for all your Asian specialties at a fraction of the cost! (H)
The Prahran Market for the best quality produce – particularly the fruit at Pino’s Fine Produce and seafood at Claringbolds. I also love South Melbourne for the oyster shots at Aptus Seafoods. (G)

Like every true Melburnian, we love a good cup of coffee. Who’s your favourite barista in the city?
The guys at Movida Bakery in South Yarra and Patisserie Francaise Frou Frou in Hawksburn. (H)

You two are our eyes and ears to Melbourne’s underground food scene! Who are your favourite chefs?
Nicky Riemer at Union Dining in Richmond. I love her fresh seasonal salads and dishes. (H)
Benjamin Cooper at Chin Chin. Love sharing lots of their modern Asian dishes with great drinks. Always a fun night out! (G)
