WHO'S YOUR? is the curated black book of the best in their business.

Designer for Ixiah
With her trans-Tasman upbringing in Auckland and Sydney, fashion designer Krystel Davis embodies the aesthetic of the understated traveller in her label, Ixiah. Her debut collection focuses on clean lines, flattering silhouettes and on-trend neutral tones with a pop of neon, while raw elements from open-weave knits, cross-hatched printed silks and crochet binding add a distinctly Australian edge. Having built a loyal following with a client list including Nicole Richie, Megan Gale, Isabel Lucas and Jess Hart, Krystel has made her mark in the fashion industry, proving she is one up and coming designer to watch….

Home is?
Bondi, NSW

What do you do?
Designer for new Sydney label, Ixiah.

Style crush?
Emmanuelle Alt’s mix of feminine versus masculine is eye-catching.

Things that inspire you?
I am lucky enough to have a career that involves a lot of travel and it is these experiences that really inspire me. Engrossing myself in different cultures is often what prompts many of my design stories, helping me to create the unique textiles that are integral to the Ixiah brand.

What websites/blogs do you regularly visit?
line x shape x colour, as it’s all about creating and being inspired; whether it’s making something, travelling to far-away lands or listening to some awesome tunes this is a place where it all collides. Yellowtrace is another one of my favourites, containing all sorts of posts and inspirations that are always interesting to look through.

Where do you head for a great all day breakfast?
I would head to my local Brown Sugar cafe on Curlewis Street, Bondi.

Your designs have been seen on an impressive haul of A-listers. Who’s your dream client to dress?
I would love to see Nicole Richie in our white embroidered maxi, Liu Wen in our high-necked cable knit, Vanessa Paradis wearing our hand-crocheted fringe dresses, Kate Moss in our luxe brocade vest and Rose Byrne decked in our tailored, technicolour silk suit! That would be heaven.

Accessories obviously play a big part in completing a look? Do you have a favourite jewellery designer?
The amazing Elaine Emmanuel from Emmanuel & Cox designs. She does breathtaking chunky pieces that I have starting collecting.

Top five must-haves…
1. I love layering, so my Ixiah detailed vests are essential.
2. A big handbag to fit all my kit!
3. My All Saints boots.
4. Well-fitted jeans.
5. Out of the ordinary accessories, perhaps a great chain for a neckpiece or embroidered fabric as a belt.
