LARA DEUTSCH

Co-founder of Stem Organics
The co-founder of Stem Organics (stemorganics.com), Lara has always had a holistic approach to skin, life and health. Diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome when she was 16, she turned to natural therapies and organics for relief.

After seeing the benefits they had to offer, she was inspired to create her own range of products using purely organic ingredients. Lara has nurtured the brand into a recognised name, helping other eco-friendly products get a foothold in the industry. A savvy entrepreneur, she was named “Young Business Woman of the Year” by YEN and now imparts her knowledge onto us.

What do you do?
Natural and Organic Skincare Brand Owner

You’re passionate about?
Healthy living and following your destiny.

How did your beauty range come about?
First and foremost, I wanted to cut chemicals from my life, which lead to me wanting to create an effective anti-ageing range that not only had amazing ingredients on the inside, but looked great from the outside as well.

What item from your desktop can you not do without?
My essential oil diffusers – I diffuse essential oils depending on my day and my mood. A calming blend to relax, peppermint to clear my mind and concentrate, eucalyptus and lime if I’m feeling like a cold is coming on…

The secret to beautiful skin is…
taking care of what you put into the body and onto the body as ‘everything you touch, matters’.

Some might say it’s an ‘eco-sin’ but what can’t you live without?
International travel! Love, love, love exploring new destinations.

What are some of your fave eco-friendly shops in Australia?
www.biome.com.au for a broad range of eco-friendly products. You always find something interesting.
- Ecofashionista.com.au has a range of eco fashion designers in the one spot
- Any local health food shops or farmers market. I love exploring natural and organic products.

What health-related websites do you read on a regular basis?
Check out www.mercola.comwww.inhabitiat.com and www.treehugger.com. The last two are more eco-related but I think that also effects your health!

What natural therapies do you use on a regular basis?
I think infrared saunas are great at sweating out toxins. They also make your skin also look great afterwards! I also think a great massage is fabulous for pure relaxation. I had a really good one at Thai Take Care in South Yarra recently. Finally, Pilates is great for core strength and a long lean figure. Try Energize&Recharge in Elwood.
