What do you do?
Proud mum to Beau and Leila, and Creative Director at Jaggad
Most treasured item?
My Balmain Blazer, bought recently on our first family holiday to Paris. I love everything Balmain and have been lusting after this blazer for years so I couldn’t go to Paris and not pay a visit to their flagship store. I was like a kid in a candy store! This is such a classic versatile piece, I can wear it casually with drop crotch jeans, runners and a white tee in the day or at night with my leather skinnies or over a dress for the evening.
Beauty product you can’t live without?
CC Cream by Peter Thomas Roth. My olive skin is prone to pigmention, this cream is really light and not greasy and it instantly evens out my skin tone. It is packed with vitamin C and is SP30 so it ticks a lot of boxes for me. Most days I walk out the door with just this on my skin with a touch of bronzer on my cheeks and gloss on my lips.
Every woman should own?
A pair of designer heels. I’m definitely a shoe girl, my friends poke fun at my shoe “wardrobe” which is in our spare room which is full of shoe drawers from top to bottom. I do love the comfort of flats in the day time, especially when running around after the kids but you can’t go past a great pair of heels. It’s amazing what a great pair of heels will do for an outfit and your confidence. Investing in a pair of designer heels is easy to justify, if you pick well they well last forever. I still have my first pair of black patent Louboutins that I bought on a trip to Hong Kong nearly 10 years ago. I couldn’t possibly name a favourite… Top three would be my black Valentino Rockstuds which add edge to any outfit, my Aquazurra Amazon lace up ankle wrap sandals are my fave for jeans or pants, and lastly my most recent purchase my Balenciaga lace up ankle boots. Love!
Jaggad activewear (of course!). Our newest print for SS15/16 was inspired by summer skies, we’ve chosen a beautiful soft pink and midnight blues for this collection and our customers really love our placement prints, a lot of planning goes in to where the print is positioned and what will be most flattering on the body and I believe this is one of the reasons our tights are so popular. Keep an eye out for our next range which is inspired by the ocean and will be landing in October.
Go-to for great basics?
Camilla & Marc. They always seem to nail the fit and shapes and their price point is really great for basics . I am obsessed with my Harper Drop Crotch jeans at the moment, and I love their classic logo tees and sweaters.
Whose wardrobe would you most like to raid?
Christine Centenera. She is one of the most globally visible Australian fashion figures and looks incredible every time she steps out at an international fashion event.
Who’s your favourite blogger?
Flatoutmum, www.flatoutmum.com.au , written by Olivia Anderson, a mum of four boys including twins to partner Shane Crawford. She is the epitome of a “flat out mum” and writes humorous but most importantly real observations on her “mum life”. Plus she also loves flat shoes so she is flat out in more ways than one!
Which Australian designers, artists or creative people are you loving right now?
Scanlan & Theodore, and Zimmermann are my two favourites. I’ve been a regular at Scanlan since I was in my early 20s when I got my first ‘real’ job out of uni and a proper salary. My husband cringes (then laughs) every time they call to let me know a new range has landed. I love the innovative shapes and the fabrics they use are amazing. They are known for the crepe knit and scuba pieces and I just can’t get enough of them. Zimmermann is my other fave, their pieces are so feminine and their swimwear is always spot on. I can’t get enough lace and floral in my wardrobe and Zimmermann gets it right every season.
Favourite spots in Melbourne for furniture and home accessories?
Frankie & Coco Hampton St Hampton. Run by gorgeous sisters, their store has a really eclectic range of goodies sourced from all over the world. I just bought a beautiful marble cake stand from there, now I should start baking more often!
Favourite work out outfit and why?
Jaggad compression tights, we have invested in the most amazing Italian compression fabric, it feels incredible on and holds you in in all the right places. They fit like a glove and don’t fall down when running/walking. Plus they are made in Australia. My two pet hates are see through tights and tights that constantly have to be hitched up. We have made sure Jaggad tights are neither!
Typical Saturday morning?
Kids sport with a green smoothie and large coffee in hand. Holy Bowly Superfood Bar in Hampton St are my favourite! They do an awesome “Go Green” smoothie which tastes delicious and fills me up for the morning. It has spinach, kale, protein powder, coconut water, and a bit of banana and mango for sweetness. They have lots of other yummy raw and organic food – protein balls, acai bowls, salads etc. I am a regular there on the weekends and after school drop offs.
