What do you do?
I am part-owner of Madame Brussels. I work as a hostess, general party planner, staff trainer and mentor. I also have a lot to do with the Madame Brussels brand and love doing PR and marketing.

How did the title Miss Pearls come about?
It comes from a cockney saying “what a pearler”, which means a gem.

What’s one beauty item you can’t live without?
Clarins Beauty Flash Balm.

What’s your biggest splurge?
Jewels, jewels, and more jewels!

And your guilty pleasure?
Beautiful men!

You’re known for your knowledge on wine. What’s your wine of choice for under $50?
Old world: Louis Moreau Chablis
New world: Tarrawarra Estate Pinot Noir

You’re a brand ambassador for the Cosmediclinic. What treatments are you a fan of?
I love the hair removal because it’s permanent. I have also started working on some sun-damaged skin on my shoulders and am beginning to see results. I really trust Dr Bui and his objective medical opinion. He guides me on how to fix what’s wrong, as well as enhance my natural attributes.

You’re always striving for something new in your career. Who’s your career idol?
Two female idols – Ita Buttrose and Helen Gurley Brown. Both are amazing editors and great role models for woman. They flew the flag for the modern woman, sexual freedom and beauty.

  • You always look so glamorous, who’s your favourite jeweller for your glitz?
  • Bensimon Jewels for accessories and jewels - they’re by appointment only but ask to speak with the lovely Tanya Hamersfeld.
