Annoying habit?
Changing my mind. It can get expensive.

Beauty heroine?
My lovely mother. She is dedicated to impeccable grooming, products and living, and it shows through her beautiful hair and glowing skin, she always looks polished. I am also inspired by effortlessly chic French beauties like Audrey Tatou, Emmanuelle Béart, Eva Green and Sophie Marceau. All such gorgeous ladies that always look like they haven’t made any effort (though I’ve convinced myself that it can’t possibly be true, it would just be too unfair).

First love?
All that glitters and is gold. I wear a lot of metallic, sequins and glossy accessories, and to offset that I pretty much wear black everywhere else. I’ve always loved dogs too and am passionate about movements like Oscar’s law to stop cruel puppy factories and pet shop sales. Read more and donate at Oscar’s law or save a puppy at Pet Rescue.

Favourite city and why?
How can you not love Las Vegas when the answer to everything is ‘Yes!’. “Can I have a lobster atop my steak?” “Certainly!”, “Do you have one bigger and with more gold?” “Absolutely!”, “Can’t we just take a helicopter?” “Why, of course!” – It’s a great place to indulge and be silly.

Miss Fox has a beautiful fit-out, where did you seek inspiration from to create this haven in busy Melbourne CBD?
The interior was inspired in part by travels through New York: its grand old department stores like Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus, iconic buildings like the Chrysler and romantic hotels like the St Regis and the Carlyle. I was overwhelmed by the classic architecture, beautiful fittings and wonderful art deco flourishes of Manhattan. I wanted to take the combination of history, grandeur and intimacy, inject it with some modern glamour, and make it happen in Melbourne.

The strangest thing I’ve had to do for my job?
The other day we had a client come out of her spa suite in her towel asking for someone to please put more bubbles in her bath (too many had popped mid-bathing). That’s classic MISS FOX behaviour and we love it!

What is the most important business lesson you’ve learned when setting up Miss Fox?
MISS FOX is all about great customer service so we recruit people who love to learn about our guests and love making them happy. Our people are our business; they represent our brand and they are the ones at the front line creating the experience for our valued guests. If they don’t share our vision they just won’t do!
