When it comes to makeup removers, the WY? team have pretty much tried them all. From cult favourites to supermarket brands, it’s so hard to know what works and what doesn’t.

Some products we find to be too aggressive, some are too drying and others just don’t seem to get the job done. To celebrate our love for ‘Makeup Free Me’, we’ve reached out to a couple of WY? contributors and asked them to share their best beauty buys…

Yasmin Najjar - neoSKIN founder

My favourite makeup remover is the Micellar Lotion (3-in-1) by Eau Thermale Avène – A gentle no-rinse cleanser and makeup remover that gets rid of all traces of makeup – and I mean all!

Lauren Phillips - TV personality

After a long day in the studio with layers of makeup and powder on, Skin Medica Facial cleanser makes my skin feel clean and fresh. I find some cleansers leave a thin layer of product on my skin and my face doesn’t feel fresh but the Skin Medica cleanser takes all my makeup off and leaves my skin feeling perfectly clean. I purchase mine from Liberty Belle on Toorak Road.

Merissa Mathew - Makeup Free Me founder

I use Neutrogena’s Fresh Foaming Cleanser as it’s not only effective in removing makeup but also very affordable. I also finish off with a Norwex Facial Cleansing Cloth as it makes my skin super smooth – this is a must buy.

Nicola Wood - Sunrise traffic reporter & beauty blogger

I would have to say that removing your makeup is almost more vital than brushing your teeth during the nightly ritual…almost. And I’m sure it must be a proven fact by now that you’ll have a much better sleep with a fresh face! Currently, to take off my makeup I’ll switch betweenClinique ‘Take the Day Off’ (and it really does just that!), Aesop Fabulous Face Cleanser andBioderma Sensibio H20 - they all ensure the makeup is completely removed. I use Jurlique’s Rose Moisture Plus Cream Mask a few times a week because it gives a beautiful deep and nourishing clean and Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant for a little extra exfoliation.
