UP IN THE AIR BEAUTY TIPS

How to July 27 2012

We can’t all look as impossibly polished as Miranda Kerr as we exit the plane, but we can make sure our skin is hydrated. Whether you’re away for a weekender or on a long-haul multi-stopover flight, these beauty tips apply wherever you are.

  • Dry, stale airplane air can be particularly damaging to your skin so make sure you apply a thick layer of moisturizer before takeoff. Apply facial mist before for a refreshed feel.
  • Avoid having your favourite products binned at security and carry small travel-size bottles in your hand luggage. Also, opt for lip balm over gloss and powders over liquid foundations. You can even rub balm on your cuticles to prevent tearing.
  • Hate walking into Arrivals with messy plane hair? Try applying leave-in conditioner before you take off (to protect from toxins) or sweep it up in a silk scarf. You can also brush through dry shampoo when you land to tame any fly-aways.
  • And remember to wear sunscreen. Though it may sound silly, you’re closer to the sun when flying so it’s important to protect your skin from damaging rays even when you’re not at the window seat.
